Welcome to Anne Nye Fine art
Featuring paintings and Kilned Glass work of Anne Nye and a few of her friends
Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Anne studied fine art at the University of Idaho & California College of the Arts in Oakland CA. She worked as a graphic and fine artist in many parts of the country including Spain and Hawaii. In 2000 Anne began working in fused glass, approaching it very much like painting.
"My work, like life, is about layers. I layer color over color and glass over glass, opacity over transparency. Like the experiences of life — layers of joy over sorrow, today over yesterday; here and there patches of brilliance peeking through darks, like sweet secrets heard on a summer's day remembered in winter.
Anne works in both fused glass & oil &acrylic on canvas. Her signature glass technique uses glass powders like paint, fired to a luscious matte finish.
Internationally known, she has traveled extensively to teach her methods in glass.
Anne has always enjoyed collaborating with other artists. Most recently she has been working with wood artist, Jerry Hauck. Together they have created a whole new genre of art that springs from Sunny Arizona where she lives with her dog, Ezra, who makes her smile.
