ANNE NYE
Painter and Kiln Worked Glass
Anne Nye studied fine art at the University of Idaho and California College of the Arts in the 60’s, completing course work for a BFA. She worked as a graphic designer and illustrator for many years and in 1997 began working as a full time artist. Since 2000, Anne has worked primarily on her own in kiln formed glass developing her painterly style and techniques, but recently studied under Narcissus Quagliata & Ted Sawyer and completed an invitational residency at Pilchuck under the direction of Steve Klein & Richard Parrish.
“For me each piece I create is a story in the making. I begin with an inspiration, something I've seen or often part of a dream. Sometimes it's just a group of colors that seem to niggle at my brain, teasing me to play with it. Once I begin to play the search begins for the story. Much like a writer working out a plot, a dialogue develops with the piece."
Her work is also available on ArtfulHome.com and many pieces are held in private collections across the globe. Anne also has a large facebbok network including artists from all over the world.
In the last few years, Anne has been in high demand as an instructor, teaching in Denver, Atlanta, Omaha, Tennessee, Phoenix, Winnipeg BC and Denmark. She also conducts a few one-on-one mentoring/teaching workshops in her home studio each year.
Anne also continues to paint and makes her home in Florence AZ along with Jerry, her partner & collaborator & dog, Ezra, who make her smile!

JERRY HAUCK
Sculptor and Furniture Artist
Born and raised in South Dakota, the youngest of twelve children, Jerry Hauck holds a BA in History/English and an MA in Ancient and Renaissance History from the University of South Dakota. But it was his love of the arts that ultimately influenced his personal and career choices.
His entrepreneurial spirit guided a foray into four distinct careers…antiques dealer, wood artist (designing and constructing free form organic furniture), art gallery owner and, finally, as the creator of one of the first craft beer bar/breweries in the Midwest.
After several years of artistic hiatus, other than penning hundreds of poems, Hauck sold his bar-brewery and moved to Arizona permanently. There, he met fused glass artist Anne Nye and together they began intermingling their artistic specialties into what they are calling freeform, organic sculpture which includes Furniture, wall & table art and lighting.
Each piece begins with trips to the desert or local sawmills. Jerry works the wood to bring out its natural beauty which requires hours of sanding and painstaking finishing. Sculptures are often enhance by collaborative additions of glass and/or metal.
