I started out as a painter and here I am again. I find it enhances both mediums to be able to go back and forth between them. Especially in the heat of summer, my cool, light flooded painting studio is a welcome respite from the glass kiln.

After many years of experimentation, I have found a way to make glass behave like paint. I use traditional tools and kiln fire each piece several times for the perfect surface texture. The work is often mistaken for oil paintings but I use only Bullseye brand glass powder on sheet glass. Wall pieces are mounted on an aluminum backing and adhered with a high quality marine silicone and hang with a simple gallery wire. The work is extremely durable and light fast even in brightest sunlight and never weighs more than twenty pounds.
My table art is a combination of my signature powder techniques and frit painting. I use only Bullseye brand glass made in Portland OR which comes in several particle sizes, called "frit". Each piece is securely mounted in custom made stands, several of which I have designed.
